1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 3 February, the following were newly reported by 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 3,235 confirmed cases (2,345 in Hubei Province);
b) 492 severe cases (442 in Hubei Province);
c) 64 fatalities (64 in Hubei Province);
d) 157 cases of patients cured and discharged from hospital (101 in Hubei Province); and
e) 5,072 suspected cases (3,182 in Hubei Province).
2. According to the National Health Commission, as of 24:00, 3 February, the following were reported by 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:
a) 20,438 confirmed cases (upon verification, the number of cases in Heilongjiang Province falls by 2);
b) 2,788 severe cases;
c) 425 fatalities;
d) 632 cases of patients cured and discharged from hospital; and
e) 23,214 suspected cases.
3. To date, 221,015 close contacts have been traced. Among them, 12,755 have been released from medical observation while 171,329 are still under observation.
4. Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan have altogether reported 33 confirmed cases:
a) 15 in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR);
b) 8 in the Macao SAR; and
c) 10 in the Taiwan region.
